Chicago Jazz Festival
Between 2011-2017 I served on the programming committee for the Chicago Jazz Festival, one of the largest admission-free jazz events in the United States.
Frequency Festival
Starting in 2016 I launched the annual Frequency Festival in Chicago. I serve as artistic director of the event, an outgrowth of the weekly Frequency Series. Most concerts occur at Constellation, but free and ticketed events have been presented in cooperation with the Art Institute of Chicago, the Renaissance Society, Museum of Contemporary Art: Chicago, and Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events:
2019 line-up: a.pe.ri.od.ic plays Catherine Lamb, Mabel Kwan plays Haas/Jennifer Woodrum & Albatross Duo, Kevin Drumm with Rage Thormbones, International Contemporary Ensemble, Ensemble Dal Niente.
2018 line-up: Martin Arnold w/ Joshua Abrams & Friends, Hamid Drake, Beyond This Point, Quatuor Bozzini, Wet Ink Ensemble, International Contemporary Ensemble, Julius Eastman Portrait Concert curated by Seth Parker Woods, Haley Fohr, and Mariel Roberts.
2017 line-up: Mocrep, R. Andrew Lee, Morton Feldman Chamber Players, Bill Orcutt, Austin Wulliman, Quince, Olivia Block, Miranda Cuckson, Ensemble Dal Niente.
2016 line-up: Lisa Kaplan & Matthew Duvall, Fonema Consort, Mocrep, a.pe.ri.od.ic, Tim Munro, Meehan-Perkins Duo, Claire Chase, Spektral Quartet, Ensemble Dal Niente.
