Nowhere street series

is a multi-genre concert series showcasing local and international artists, curated by journalist/curator Peter Margasak and composer/performer Jessie Marino, hosted monthly at KM28 in Berlin Neukölln.

Nowhere Street is a series devoted to experimental music practices that look beyond genre. The series brings together Germany-based artists with musicians from across the EU and the US, whether sharing the program or collaborating directly. A growing number of experimental artists reject subscribing to antiquated genre hierarchies. Tradition can facilitate radical innovation, and experimentation can be deeply rooted in convention. The series also gives space to Berlin working ensembles that rarely get the opportunity to perform acrossgenres, and thereby get to bring their music to a new audience. Six concerts will occur monthly from January - June 2026 at KM28, a vital center for experimentation and cross-disciplinary art in Berlin, with a built-in audience that is drawn to such open-ended approaches.

Nowhere Street seeks to erase the artificial boundaries imposed upon different musical practices and genres, while retaining a firm commitment to experimentation in all of its guises. We aim to both facilitate intersections that exist between disparate traditions and approaches as well as to normalize cross-genre exercises not as a selling point or novelty, but as a natural process from musicians who refuse to adhere to limiting categorization. While we seek to curate a dynamic season program, within each individual concert we ask the artists themselves to drive collaboration, providing guidance and input while ultimately entrusting the process to the artists creating the work. Ideally, new collaborations and partnerships can endure beyond these initial pairings.
